The Philistines beat Israel at Ebenezer and took the ark of God. They carried it to Ashdod, then to Gath, then to Ekron, and in each city the hand of God was against them. After seven months they sent it back on a cart drawn by two kine, which went straight to Bethshemesh. From there it went to Kirjath-jearim. Ebenezer has a white dot, because no one knows the spot.
