Cyrus king of Persia let the Jews go home, and he gave back the vessels Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the Temple. The people went from Babylon to Jerusalem to build the house of God again. The shading shows the Persian empire under Cyrus. The line follows the river road up the Euphrates and down through Syria; the verses do not give the road.
