Abram left Ur of the Chaldees with his father Terah and came to Haran. From Haran he went on to Canaan, to Shechem, then between Bethel and Ai. The map shows two places proposed for Ur: the solid line comes from Ur in the south, the dashed line from an Ur in the north. The map spells Haran "Harran." The King James Bible spells Shechem "Sichem" here.
