Paul came to Rome as a prisoner and lived two whole years in his own hired house. He called together the chief of the Jews; the map marks the Jewish quarter across the Tiber. The map's "Praetorium" is the camp of the emperor's guard. In Philippians 1:13 the King James Bible calls it "the palace."
